Noise presents fundamental trade offs in circuit design, requiring a rigorous understanding of the noise properties of various circuit topologies. This lecture series begins with basic noise concepts and the noise models necessary for representing the behavior of resistors and transistors. It then deals with the analysis of noise in circuits and provides a methodical, intuitive approach. Next, the noise performance of basic amplifier stages is formulated and key insights are developed. Finally, these insights are applied to the design of low noise op amps and switched capacitor circuits
